    Building Rapport with your readers!

Building rapport is not an easy thing to do but it is one thing I've realised lately that is quite important. In my job, we are trained that the first thing to do when you meet someone is to build rapport with them.

We use the rule of 9, which means that you find out 9 things about them and give them 3 things back about you. This could be anything from where you live, if you have kids or a partner, what kind of job you have and what interests you.

So how does this help me?

Well it is very important if you write a blog to build rapport with your readers. In this online world that would be through comments, forums and instant messaging. It is important to encourage your readers to leave comments and also to join the network.

Do you enjoy having comments left on your blog? Does it give you ideas about which to write? Or if you are a reader, do you revisit sites that gave you something in return?
