Thanks for the comment Shelia! I agree completely. It\'s very sad how some people get lured in and lose everything. If I can help one person not to get involved in a dodgy business that that will be excellent!

Remember the old saying \"If it sounds too good to be true, it must be?\"

It\'s unfortunate that a lot of people want to believe in the \'get rich quick\' method of achievement, rather than the hard work route.

It is absolutely incredible to me that decade after decade people are willing to listen to these schemes that will make only a very few people rich and lead the rest of the people down a path of endless nothing! Yet millions continue to seek these kinds of supposed \"opportunities,\" when in reality, there is no opportunity to be had.

I guess as long as there\'s someone who can appeal to the masses, the masses will continue to come and drag their friends right along with them.

It was interesting to read about your up close and personal experience with this organization. You are fortunate that your patience to find the \"right\" opportunity did not leave you open to Nick\'s sales pitch. - Shelia

Hi Steve! Thanks for the comment. I agree with you completely. There are some good mlm opportunities out there and some terrible ones. Hope you enjoy the book if you eventually read it. It sat on my shelf for a few months (along with a lot of other books I have) but you get to them eventually! Enjoy!

You know what\'s sad, is the deceptiveness of their business. I have nothing against the network marketing/mlm business model (the legit ones, not the ponzi or pyramid schemes), but when someone is a distributor or associate or whatever they call themselves, and they are evasive about it, that is what turns most people off. I was involved with one for several years, and did very well with it, mainly on sales alone, and with some recruiting. But I was ALWAYS upfront about it, and never tried to make what i was doing seem like something else. This is a big problem with Quixtar/Amway, and it is a shame, because alot of the products are great products, but the evasiveness of alot of the distributors turns people off (this is by no means limited to just Quixtar/Amway, though). Anyway, good article, and I\'ll try to check out the book as well. - Steve
