New Adtoll Page Peel banner! Sweet!

    Hi All!

Well I wonder if you've noticed the new 'Special Offer' in the top right hand corner of the site? Hard to miss isn't it? I think it's actually really cool and unique (for now anyways).

Yesterday I saw it on John Chow's blog and he's selling them for $37!!! Definitely DO NOT BUY IT! It's completely free with when you sign up with Adtoll. Within 5 minutes of signing up I created and installed my 'Page Peel' ad unit by placing the script code onto my site. It was up and running instantly for FREE!

So if you want one for your site, go sign up with Adtoll. Just like google they will give you a piece of code to add to your site and it's working within minutes. You can specify what type of advertisers you are looking for as well. Go ahead click on it! It's like a piece of paper peeling back.

Have fun with it, I'm sure I will.

On another note, it's just after 5pm here on Friday now, so technically weekend time! Unfortunately for those of us who 'work at home' there really isn't a weekend anymore. Anytime can be work time. Sunday? What's Sunday? No, I do try to relax on Sunday and get away from the computer, but usually I'll check things like email a few times.

I've just finished creating my first clients website. Check it out here at www.joykaya.com.au. Very simple, but that's exactly what he was looking for. It's taken me 3 'half days' to complete it (including the Joomla installation which originally had a few problems on his host but I got it sorted out). I'm quite proud of myself!

Time for a kahlua I think!

    Have a good weekend!

Congrats on the first happy client! I remember my first client, wow that was ages ago now, and the feeling of being able to take on the world that comes with (paid) success.

I raise my glass to your Khalua, here's wishing you many more happy clients!

P.S. you cost John some referral income with your post.... cool

Heh, I don't think John knew about the AdToll free version that allows for weighted insertions of your own.

Can anytime be play time too? Sounds like you've earned it.

Great blog too, I can't wait to follow it to the new heights you're sure to take it Bec. All eyes on you girl!

Hehe, well I'm sure John will still sell his page peels! But some will want it for free.

Yeah, I've always done web design as a hobby, but now I'm ready to help other people out who need a site as I feel it has gotten a lot easier over the last 10 years to build sites! On the other hand, with web 2.0 there is a lot more that people want! I'm ready to continue the journey!

Yeah, they launched about the same times (within a day or two). Adtoll looks pretty good, I'll have check out some of their other advertising methods as well.

I use Joomla for my site and they have a free 'module' where you can put any of your own banners in there from clients. So I installed that on my site yesterday and then I realised I didn't have any 500x500 banners to put in there!! So I searched the web for 500x500 and landed upon Adtoll. I may move back to the module if I get an advertiser who wants to advertise behind my page peel! But for now Adtoll will have to do!

Enjoy your site, used to have an ATV at my parents place. Don't live there anymore though (they're in Canada and I'm in Oz) so can't use theirs! Might buy one someday :p

I'm from Canada, now in SoCal, they're everywhere. Living in Oz means calling them 4-wheelers now too doesn't it?

I just came back to read a few more articles, I was in a hurry the other day, I guess that means I like your blog too smilies/smiley.gif

I'm writing an article about earning a living online and it dawned on me that unless you have something people want, you won't even get noticed. You could write the most brilliant articles and remain unknown but if you just whisper the words "giving 500 entrecards away" for example, your rss count jumps by 50 people. Does that mean the BEST way to launch a blog is just to scounge around looking for 3 or 4 months of stuff to give away to get that initial attention? Say it isn't so!

Way off topic now I know, sorry

Haha, yes they do call them 4 wheelers here! There are a lot of different words they use in Oz. Another whole language of slang!

Yeah, it's true, you do need to keep your content fresh and have people who want what you are giving! A bit of a learning curve but it's all trial and error!
