My Background
My first day online was the 7th of May 1995, two days before my 15th Birthday. I can still remember it clearly, logging onto CompuServe and hearing that modem rattle with noises that make you cringe! I spent a few years on CompuServe and a bit on AOL, they were fierce competitors at that time! Eventually I moved to an ISP when the web became more prevalent and Netscape was developed.
I have been making money online since at least 1999. My main source of income has always been through my site beckie.com and clickcash. I have not really updated that site in a few years and they still send me cheques!
I dnscooped my old site and I registered it on 8 August 1997! Wow! That was a while ago now!
Me Now
I am a 28 year old Canadian who now lives in Melbourne, Australia. I have a BA from Canada and a post graduate diploma from London, UK (Where I lived for 4 years). When not in school, I spent most of my time working as an Executive Assistant, both in London and Melbourne.
I recently changed careers into a sales role but and I am loving blogging and learning Internet Marketing as a hobby in my spare time.
My goal with this site is to create an interactive online community where I will share all of my tips and trials and errors with my readers. Since shortly after I went online in 1995, I have always had some sort of website. I love controlling the extra income I make and best of all catch up with and share what is happening in the world of Internet Marketing today. Internet Marketing has always been a passion of mine and I am really excited to be doing it again.
My Hosting and Design
I use Startlogic and I love them! I signed up for a shared Unix hosting account for less than $5/month including a few domain names.
I love the fact that in the control panel at Startlogic there is an 'Install Central' section where you can install Wordpress (which I used to use) and Joomla (which I currently use). Both are excellent blogging tools, but Joomla is a much more advanced Content Management System. I absolutely love using Joomla as before this, any website I created was out of raw html and style sheets. I am so glad those days are over!
It took me a couple of weeks of daily work to get comfortable with Joomla, but it is making more and more sense each day. I love the fact that there are so many open source extensions that I can install and a great forum for any help I need.
So hopefully you have a bit about my background now, if you were curious! Don't forget to signup with the free Make Money Online Club to keep in touch! :)
